The telephoto lens has a narrower field of view (angle of view)
than the standard lens and allows you to take a larger picture of a
distant object (subject).
For SLR lenses that use 35mm film, lenses with focal lengths from
about 70-80mm are generally called telephoto lenses.
And the focal length is longer.

The maximum aperture value is
larger than those of standard lenses and other lenses, often from f/4 to f/5.6.
Some lenses are as bright as F2.8, such as the reference lens shown here.
