In this issue, we will take a look at the film sensitivity dial on Asahi Optics’s 1961 manual focus film SLR camera.

ASAHI PENTAX S3 (Reference product)

The film sensitivity dial is located below the rewind crank.

This setting is for ASA display only, from 10 to 800.
The values are color-coded in red color, green color, and white color.

Dial operation turns the dial as it is.

Set the desired value in the red mark of the triangle.

The side of the dial has a fine flat knurled design for superior operability.

In this issue, we introduced the film sensitivity dial of a manual focus SLR camera released in 1961 by Asahi Optics.

The design of this camera has a film sensitivity dial under the rewind crank section, as is the case with other manufacturers.

The three color-coded numerical values are easy to read, and the dial can be easily turned, making it very easy to operate.

We will continue to introduce various functional design concerns in the future, so please look forward to them!

Thank you again for reading this column.
