Because we can’t speak english

I am using DeepL translate, so it may be a strange sentence,

but I would like you to understand

Thank you

Today.

On Vintage Film Camera Lenses

I was curious about the color of the lens lettering.

I will explain using the lenes sell by our company Vintage Shop Japan Inc.

The lettering on these two lenses is what I’m concerned about.

With Olympus lenses

The number representing the focal length (top row) is

shown in green (24mm)

The ft part of the upper middle column, which represents the distance

index (approximate distance), is shown in orange. (1 , 1.25 , 2 , 6 ft )

With Minolta lenses.

The number representing the focal length (middle row) is represented

in orange (50mm)

The fft part of the upper row of distance indicators (approximate distance) is

represented in green. (1.75 , 2 , 2.5 , 3 , 3.5 , 4 . 5 , 7 , 10 , 15 , 30 ft )

And both lenses have one thing in common.

The aperture value (16 , 11 , 8 , 5.6, etc.) and

the columns below the distance index numbers

(0.5 , 0.6 , 1 , 3 , ∞, m, etc.)

The distance index is the same as the aperture value.

Thus, different manufacturers have

We found differences in the color of the numbers.

I am also concerned about areas that have nothing to do

with the shooting.

If I find another letter color discovery with a different lens.

I would like to make a column about it.

From this miscellaneous information

I think it’s good to get interested in the world of film cameras and lenses

I think it’s a good idea!
