but I would like you to understand

Thank you

We have written many columns on eye-level finders for film SLR cameras, and this time we will introduce the eye-level finder design of Ricoh’s manual-focus film SLR camera released in 1978.

RICOH XR 500 (Reference product)

Ricoh released this film SLR camera with a steel black body in 1978.

Front.
The manufacturer’s logo is an engraved white logo on the front trapezoidal portion.

This is an angle from the front.

The bottom of the front trapezoidal section is characterized by the design of the corners toward the sides.

View from diagonally above.
The base of the accessory shoe is integrated with the eye-level finder.

View from the side. The angle is gentle from the top of the top edge to the rear. The height is aligned horizontally with the accessory shoe.

Viewed from the top, you can see that the design is based on straight lines with few curved surfaces.

This is the back side.
You can clearly see the straight lines.

View from diagonally behind.

You can clearly see the base of the accessory shoe.

In this article, we introduced the eye-level finder of Ricoh’s 1978 release manual focus SLR camera.

This is the first time we are introducing a camera from Ricoh.
This XR 500 seems to be a SLR camera based on XR-1 and XR-2 released in the previous year.
Ricoh has been releasing film SLR cameras since around 1962, and I would like to introduce more and more of them when I have a chance.

And we will continue to introduce various designs of eye-level finders in the future, so please look forward to it!

Thank you again for reading this column.
